Located in the heart of Markham, Ontario, Go Place is a luxury 24/7 wellness destination that redefines relaxation through thoughtful design and luxurious services. Spanning 68,000 square feet, this massive five-star leisure club and spa guides guests through an immersive experience focused on calm, balance, and restoration.
Inspired by East Asian design principles, the interior blends natural stone, warm wood textures, and ambient lighting to create a space that feels both organic and luxurious. Minimalism, symmetry, and sensory engagement shape the environment, with every material and room transition. Intentional, thoughtful design allows guests to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with themselves.
Sauna and Therapy Rooms
At the core of the Go Place experience are its seven uniquely themed saunas and therapy rooms, each offering distinct health and wellness benefits. We started off in the Salt Room, which features walls of saliniferous rocks, designed to improve respiratory health and organ function. In contrast, the Volcanic Rock Room uses heated minerals to relax muscles and boost circulation. For an invigorating reset, the Ice Room provides a cold space that tightens the skin and strengthens the immune system. The Jade Room is designed to ease headaches and support mental clarity, while the Agate Room encourages body harmony and lymphatic cleansing through its soothing atmosphere. For deep muscle relief, the Far Infrared Room targets tissue tension and may even support fat burning through sustained heat therapy. Last but not least, the Amethyst Room was our favourite, offering strong relaxing effects of infrared heat paired with soft violet lighting.
Bathhouse and Jacuzzis
The gender-separated bathhouse areas continue the spa’s commitment to relaxation through design. With zen-inspired jacuzzi baths, steam rooms, and cold plunges surrounded by soft stone tiles and low lighting, these spaces encourage slow, intentional rest. The combination of elemental materials and warm water creates a deeply meditative experience.
Much More Than Just a Spa
Go Place offers a curated mix of spaces designed for every kind of rest and recharge. A quiet, minimalist library invites guests to settle in with a book, while the sleek, glass-enclosed fitness gym provides an energizing spot to get moving. For entertainment and deep relaxation, the Comfort Zone (an in-house movie lounge) features electric reclining beds and cozy blankets, with the option to even stay overnight for an additional fee. If you’re looking for privacy, the neutral-toned VIP Rooms offer a calm space for remote work or uninterrupted downtime. Additional services include private massage rooms outfitted with Derucci chairs and premium products, along with manicure and pedicure stations available at an extra cost. Even the change rooms are thoughtfully designed, complete with Dyson hair dryers and L’Occitane de Provence products for body and hair care, adding a final layer of luxury to the entire experience.
Dining with Intention
The café at Go Place is an extension of its wellness philosophy. Designed with warm wood tones and natural textures, the space includes fresh, made in house sushi and smoothie stations that focus on clean, nourishing Asian cuisine. The mango and beet smoothie were our favourite, however we would have loved to try everything. Every dish and drink seemed to be carefully curated to complement the restorative spa experience.
A Harmonious Escape
At Go Place, it seems that every part of the space is designed to help you relax, recharge, and feel good, inside and out. From the cozy therapy rooms to the cold plunges, it’s clear that wellness here starts with the environment. Time just slips away while you’re there, and before you know it, hours have passed! It’s more than a spa, it’s a full-on escape from the everyday.
