The on-going COVID-19 pandemic will inevitably change the fashion industry forever. The necessity to purchase clothing on a frequent basis no longer exists, and numerous brands and historic department stores have closed for good. Designers have adapted with producing and showcasing their fashion products by streaming presentations online without a live audience present.

Fashion trends have changed and will continue to change as remote work has become the new normal, even in places where the pandemic looks controlled. We are likely going to see increased pictures of simple fashion pieces, breezy and comfortable to wear with a fashion quotient in mind.

Face masks

Something that began as purely protective transforming into a fashion statement in no time at all. From now on, masks are an integral part of everyday life and make a remarkable impact of the pandemic on people with regard to fashion as most people have incorporated the use of masks into their way of dressing. Masks have also made a fashion statement and they are here to stay for a long time. They will continue to make statements in different designs, fabrics, prints, colours and textures. Masks have shown through the pandemic that they can provide a little more fun for our post-lockdown style.

Loungewear

First things first, loungewear isn't loungewear unless you can, well, lounge in it. So you can expect designers to continue working with fabrics that feel soft to the touch and mold to the skin well. Loungewear offers easy-to-wear styles made to look like you have made just enough effort for a Zoom call or to run a few essential errands. From cashmere jeans to blouses crafted in loungewear material, there are a handful of innovative designers reimagining our wardrobe staples in loungewear materials. In other words, look polished but feel comfortable.

The Oversized Trouser

Thank goodness large pants are taking over in 2021. Gone will be the days of your old sweatpants from middle school; instead, you'll be switching them out for a more stylish option. Just as comfortable to wear, but a hundred times more stylish, the oversized trouser will quickly become a staple in everyone's wardrobe in 2021. Create a balance with something cropped or slim-fitting on top to keep your baggy bottoms from coming across as lazy. Plus, you don't have to stick to just one pants style; wide-leg jeans, loose-fitting slacks, and yoga pants are all having a moment.
