Even though we live in a digital world, there is nothing that can replace the power of books- especially in design. Bookshelf styling, which is commonly known as shelfie styling has gained a lot of popularity in this modern world. Bookshelves can be so much fun to decorate, but sometimes it’s hard to find the right strategy to make it look organized. Let’s not deny the fact that we all love looking at a perfectly styled bookshelf that is a collection of mixed favourite displayed objects amongst the books.
Here are some ideas that will help you to make your bookshelf more interesting and eye-catchy.
1.Make it look simple yet classy
To give a creative touch, display the books facing backwards and add some objects on each shelf like a plain vase with plants, artwork or even a frame to make it look more charming. Also having a white background adds more elegance. Oh, and we love the mini storage pot on the bottom shelf for a subtle touch of whimsy.
2.Multipurpose shelves
Display different types of objects on each shelf to make it look interesting. Paint the bookshelf in a regular black or grey paint to add a texture to make it look appealing. Add lesser books to make it look organized and by doing this, your bookshelf will look more harmonious. Try keeping your books vertical and add affordable bookends to make it look more intentional.
3.A staircase
Display the books by size and in a vertical and horizontal manner. Do this in every alternate cube to give a perfect mixture of vertical and horizontal look to your books. Also try arranging the book by color to make it easily accessible and visible whenever you’re looking out for a particular book. Add organic materials like a bowl filled with rocks, a beautiful seashell or an air plant. Such objects look great on a staircase type bookshelf.
4. Antique bookshelf
Antique bookshelves fulfill a book lovers’ romantic soul. A collection of some old volume books with different shaped bottles will take you back to the olden days. This is the perfect combination for those who want to read books with a glass of your favourite beverage. Also spice it up with some natural and artificial objects like wooden pots or even clay showpieces.
