Establish a productive daily routine

Before Covid-19 hit, when we did not have any plans for the day, we would lounge around in comfy clothes, drink coffee, watch netflix and take a nap. However, with the pandemic, this became the daily routine for many people. With remote work/school and a very limited social life, every day was like a lazy weekend. Many people believe this will be the hardest thing to overcome once we are required to be back in person. Therefore, it is vital to adopt a daily routine that provides structure, encourages productivity and plays the role of a stepping stone to go back into our previous routine. The most effective method to do so is to begin the day at a similar time on a daily basis. This helps regulate one's sleeping schedule and ensures a healthy sleeping pattern. Additionally, regardless of whether you will be leaving the house or not, you should change into something suitable to wear out as it assists in making you feel more productive and efficient.

Spend time outside of the house on a daily basis

In order to re energize ourselves and prepare for our in person return, it is crucial to leave the house at least once a day. Numerous individuals experienced days in quarantine in which they did not leave the house. Remaining indoors has a negative effect on mental health and your overall well being as it translates to feelings of isolation. Individuals should leave the house at least for half an hour everyday whether that is to go for a walk, exercise, run errands or simply drive around. This will help provide a sense of normalcy and routine as well as stimulate one's mind, that is crucial to retort to pre-Covid life.

Take on a long term project/activity

As mentioned earlier, to revert to our previous style, it is crucial to remain productive and take on a hobby or activity that provides a sense of efficiency and keeps our mind energized. Particularly, hobbies such as cooking, painting or putting together a jigsaw puzzle enables an individual to feel invigorated, motivated and keeps the brain intrigued. Moreover, it can serve to be extremely advantageous for individuals to take on a long term project such as crocheting a blanket or finding a new series to read. This enables individuals to remain consistent with one project that will assist in keeping them distracted and engaged over a long period of time.

Limit screen time

Finally, individuals should attempt to restrain their use of social media and screen time. Doing so, will enable individuals to place a greater amount of focus on what is in front of them rather than information perceived through a screen. Moreover, social media provides a sense of false reality and depicts a lavish lifestyle that is otherwise unattainable for individuals. People should attempt to limit their screen time to prevent this sense of false reality as it has a tendency to have a negative effect on mental health.
