What is it about luxury beauty products that make us spend our hard-earned money?

Spending $100 for a small tube of facial cream can be pretty expensive, but we are willing only if presented with creative packaging, a velvety formula, a mesmerizing scent and the impact of reviews by social media influencers.

Keep the packaging aside, are these products worth the hype? Are the ingredients beneficial for the skin compared to the drug store version?

Let's explore what makes skincare products high end apart from the ingredients?

Brand

Imagine CHANEL, DIOR, TOM FORD, YVES SAINT LAURENT. In this industry, a luxury label can practically sell anything under the brand name, and that's how the cost goes up. It's the status symbol that many clients are attracted to and trust the brand.

Packaging

Is it me or do customers get excited just for the amazing packing? And maybe also save those bits and pieces after the product is done! Nonetheless, it is the extra mile these luxury labels take to create fabulous and elegant packaging. On the contrary, this extra mile doesn't add value to the product but just adds service and an experience for the consumer.

Scent

Let's be honest here, we as humans and especially females are captivated by fragrance! And the majority of luxury products have their distinctive scents. These companies spend extra to create unique scent formulas to enhance the customer experience also to be distinguished from other brands.

Bottom line

Luxury labels invest and create unique formulas infused with research and technology. Intensive research is carried out for the ingredients to perform better, and drug store products can't afford it due to high cost. We all have opinions and different budget requirements, so buy anything that makes you happy! It is the only way to decide if a product is worth it because ultimately this entire industry is based on self care and that criteria is unique person to person.
